The Motto Bartola fortress is a Swiss artillery works on the south side of the Gotthard Pass in the canton of Ticino. Its strategic task was to protect the Gotthard road and the roads into Val Bedretto and Leventina - an important role that it fulfilled during the Second World War, among other things.
The connection between the robust, vigilant fortress and a precise observation watch could not be more fitting: Both stand for reliability, precision and the ability to perform their duties even under the most difficult conditions.
